The main aims of the HIV BioBank are:

- Created a biological archive that serves as a source of samples for HIV research.

- Set up a system of reception and shipment of specimens.

- Proposed, coordinated and established the technical, ethical, legal and informative procedures that must be followed for the donation and/or provision of samples.

- Established the system for the management, treatment, storage and destruction of the biological samples in order to maintain viability and trazability.

- Documented all activities related to processing, cryopreservation and storage of samples, quality management and infrastructure maintenance, according to the stipulated in UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2008 rules of the Systems of Quality Management .
